After a successful suicide of the owner of the Raj Travels last week, yesterday evening an unidentified man jumped to his death from the Bandra-Worli Sea Link. This is the third time in this year that city’s newest landmark is now becoming a suicide point.
On Monday afternoon, an unidentified man, said to be a 25 to 30-year-old. He went ahead when security personnel tried to stop him.
Last year too, in October, a mid aged woman had attempted suicide here at Bandra-Worli Sea link but was saved by a Police Constable, lifeguards and some fishermen who saw her jumping and drowning into the sea.
MSRDC, who is in charge of taking care of the Bandra-Worli Sea link has reportedly now decided to take some measures to control these suicide and suicide attempts.
According to the DCP Jadhav of Worlli Police station, MSRDC has decided to deploy motorbike-borne marshals and will appoint some life guards for the bridge. Currently, a private security company is securing the bridge with some security guards and local police station’s policemen.
