Mumbai News : Few days after Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray’s death, almost every political party raising their voice for building a memorial of Thackeray and to rename several places in Mumbai after the Shiv Sena patriarch.
On Monday, Shiv Sena leader and former Lok Sabha speaker Manohar Joshi demanded that Bal Thackeray’s memorial must be built on Shivaji Park. Later, in Mumbai Municipal Corporation’s meeting, Shiv Sena corporator Yashodhar Phanse demanded that the upcoming Mumbai-Goa coastal highway be named after Thackeray. Another Shiv Sena corporator Ramesh Korgaonkar demanded that the Churchgate railway station of Western Railway must be renamed after Balasaheb Thackeray.
Several other Shiv Sena corporators wants Balasaheb Thackeray’s idol to be installed at the civic body’s headquarters.
Shiv Sena Corporator from Jogeshwari Raju Pednekar asked Maharashtra Government to include a chapter about Balasaheb Thackeray in the school text books syllabus. More surprisingly, parties like Congress and MNS also demanded that the late Shiv Sena chief should be honoured suitably.
Raj Thackeray’s MNS’ corporator Sandip Deshpande demanded that Balasaheb Thackeray’s memorial should be build on the vacant place of Indu Mills at South Mumbai. Another MNS Corporator Chetan Kadam said that there should be elocution competition on Thackery in civic schools.
Congress corporator Naina Sheth demanded that the Dadar Railway Station should be renamed after Thackeray. Shiv Sena’s ally BJP’s corporator Dilip Patel demanded that the proposed Navi Mumbai Airport which will be built in Panvel.
