Sydney: Known as the Mr Cricket to the whole world, Australian middle-order batsman Michael Hussey shockingly announced his retirement from all forms of international cricket. Sydney Test against Sri Lanka will be his last test match.
Hussey had a very wonderful career in International cricket. He announced retirement on a high note as this year was good for the left handed middle order batsman. He scored four Test centuries this year. His highest score this year has been 150 not out against India in Sydney.
Hussey’s retirement comes as a shocker as another Australian legend Ricky Ponting announced his retirement in the beginning of this month. There are many media reports claiming that Hussey found balancing personal life and playing cricket a challenge and he decided to quit the profession for better personal life. Another media report claimed that Hussey was not ready to quit cricket.
Hussey has played 78 tests till now and scored 6138 runs with a massive average of 51.53. He scored over 19 Test centuries and also three ODI centuries.
