Shirdi Sansthan gets 16 cr as donation in 10 days

Shirdi: Shirdi’s Sri Sai baba Sansthan receives a record donation of Rs 16 crore during the ten day period which ended January 3.

Yashwant Mane, Deputy Executive Officer of the Sansthan informed that, the last year, Sai Baba Sansthan received a donation of Rs 12.5 crore during the same period. 

The period of December to February is the peak period when the devotees visit this holy place very heavily and that is the reason that the Sansthan receives so many donations in these months particularly. This time, the donations received in the last ten days include gold and silver worth about Rs 35 lakh as compared to the figure of Rs 36 lakh last year.

Mandir sources are saying that the increased prices of the precious metals are the reason that this year Sansthan received lakh rupees less than the last year.

The sources said that, a devotee from Mumbai has donated a Diya (lamp) which is made of gold and weighing 500 grams. The lamp is used in ‘Dhoop Aarti’ of Sai Baba every day.
