New Delhi: It has come to light that, Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde has disrespected the National anthem at the inauguration of Maharashtra Sadan, New Delhi. The National Anthem was played in the presence of President Pranab Mukherjee, when Shinde followed the President and settled on the dias.
Sushil Kumar Shinde continued to walk the stairs and reached the stage and settled down. Minister of Public Works Ranjit Kamble also followed Shinde. According to the National Anthem etiquette, Shinde and Kamble should have stopped at that place, but they were in a hurry to reach the stage.
According to the Indian Constitution under the fundamental responsibility of the citizens it is mandatory to maintain the dignity of the National Anthem. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the politicians and people working in the social field o maintain the dignity of National Anthem, as the common man walk in the footsteps of such people. Therefore, Shinde should have waited for 48 seconds.
Talks might do rounds whether; Shinde committed this mistake purposefully or unknowingly. Shinde might have walked the stage hastily, or he must have not noticed that National Anthem is being played. But it is for sure that, Union Minister has insulted the National Anthem.
